Peningkatan Pengetahuan Masyarakat Mengenai Penggunaan Labu Siam Terhadap Hipertensi Warga Di Desa Lampo Kecamatan Banawa Tengah Kabupaten Donggala

Hypertension or high blood pressure is one of the deadliest diseases in the world. High blood pressure itself can increase cardiovascular disease and have an effect especially on heart health, cerebrovascular disease, kidney failure, retinopathy and neuropathy. Treatment of hypertension can be done pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. One of the plants that can be used as a treatment is the Siamese pumpkin. Siamese pumpkin is rich in fiber, antioxidants, iron, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, potassium, copper, vitamins B1, B2, B6 and vitamin C. Siamese pumpkin is also rich in folate content which helps cell formation. Siamese pumpkin is also rich in potassium, where the potassium content is as much as (± 3378.62 mg), potassium is a good mineral to lower or control blood pressure. Potassium is a powerful diuretic. This activity aims to provide knowledge to the villagers of Lampo regarding the use of Siamese pumpkin. The activity was carried out offline and in collaboration with the Donggala branch of IAI, this activity began with giving presentation materials which were then discussed and distributed basic necessities. The counseling material provided includes understanding hypertension, the use of Siamese pumpkin plants, and how to process them. The results of PKM activities provide understanding to the residents of Lampo Village regarding hypertension and the use of Siamese pumpkin plants and obtained a satisfaction percentage of 86.45% with excellent scores.
