Background: The fact that increased use of maternal health care facilities is not always accompanied by a
decrease in maternal and newborn mortality is probably due to poor service quality.
Objective: to identify maternal health care quality
Method: using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyze Extensions for Scoping
Reviews through Pubmed, Google Scholar, and Garuda Portal. The research subjects are maternal health care
users and health care fascilities officers.
Results: A total of 11 of 196.919 articles were met the inclusion criteria. Maternal health care are not of high
quality. Four themes related to maternal health care quality: dimensions of quality, infrastructure, quality of
service providers, and community as users. Poor service quality related to human resources in health facilities.
Conclusion: Strenghtened maternal health service system, education system, and community participation to
improve maternal health care quality.
