Abstract

Centella asiatica (L.)Urb) is one of the plants that can be used as an antibacterial. Pegagan has many
benefits for body, one of them is to cure fever, antibacterial activity, antiallergic, and central nervous system
stimulant. The results of phyitochemical screening that have been carried out show that pegagan leaves contain
tannin, steroid and flavonoid hich have an antibacterial function by inhibiting bacterial action in cell formation
and even growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of gotu kola leaf extract
(Centella asiatica (L.) Urb) against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Staphylococcus Aureus, Streptococcus mutans,
and Propionibacterium acnes. The results are in the form of views using the literature study method and knowing
the antibacterial effectiveness of the Pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) plant.
