Perbedaan Tingkat Pengetahuan Tentang Bahaya Rokok Elektrik di Kota dan di Desa

Abstract

Background: The habit of smoking has become a culture in the Indonesian nation. In 2012 e -cigarettes began
to enter Indonesia, but they were not immediately famous because conventional cigarettes were still rampant at
that time. E-cigarettes can have a detrimental effect on health due to its effects. E-cigarettes are still relatively
new in Indonesia, so not many people know the benefits and dangers of it.
Objective: Knowing the difference in the level of knowledge about the dangers of e-cigarettes in adolescents in
Purwakarta City and in Cimayasari Village.
Method : This type of research is quantitative research with analytical observational method with cross
sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study is non -probability sampling using accidental
sampling. The sample in this study was 59 in Purwakarta City and 59 in Cimayasari Village . The research
instrumen used in this study was to use a questionnaire filling technique. Data collection in the city uses a
questionnaire while in the village fills it through a paper questionnaire. The data analysis technique used
univariate analysis using statistical tests and bivariate analysis using the Mann Whitney test.
Results: Respondents from Cimayasari Village and Purwakarta City showed a difference in the average score of
knowledge about the dangers of different e-cigarettes, where respondents from Purwakarta City had a higher
average score. Mann-Whitney test results show a significant difference between the level of knowledge of the
dangers of e-cigarettes in adolescents in Cimayasari Village and Purwakarta City with a significance level of p
= 0.000 < = 0.05 and the difference in the average score of respondents from rural and urban areas is 6 .68 or
33.4% of the maximum score
Conclusion: There is a significant difference between the level of knowledge of the dangers of e -cigarettes
among adolescents in Cimayasari Village and Purwakarta City
