Abstract

Background: Hospital pharmacy services are an integral part of the hospital health care system which is
oriented towards patient care, the provision of quality drugs, including clinical pharmacy services that are
affordable for all levels of society. Drug planning at the PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital Pharmacy
Installation is carried out using the consumption method with a planning time of once a year. The problem most
often faced by the Pharmacy Installation is the frequent occurrence of vacancies due to uncertainty in the
availability of drugs from suppliers which can potentially affect services.
Objective: To know the description of drug planning in the Pharmacy Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah
Bantul Hospital.
Methods: This study is a non-experimental descriptive observational study with a retrospective design and
purposive sampling which is carried out in 2 ways, namely qualitative and quantitative.
Results: Based on the results of ABC analysis, class A with an investment cost value of Rp 18,730,749,168
(78%) of the total investment cost value. The drugs included in group A are 2124 (21%) drug items. Class B
with an investment cost of IDR 3,526,266,401 (15%) of the total investment cost. There are 2707 (27%) drug
items included in class B. Class C with an investment cost of IDR 1,793,449,411 (7%) of the total investment
cost. Drugs included in this class were 5332 (52%) drug items.
Conclusion: The drug planning method in the Pharmacy Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital
is carried out using the consumption method with a planning time of once a year.
