Anemia among adolescents remains a public health problem that affects quality of life, academic achievement, productivity, and future reproductive health. Limited nutritional knowledge, unbalanced dietary patterns, and suboptimal utilization of local food resources contribute to the high prevalence of anemia among adolescents. This Community Service Program aimed to improve adolescents’ knowledge and skills in anemia prevention through health education, local food innovation, and strengthening health-based socio-preneurship.
The program applied a participatory empowerment approach through education on anemia and balanced nutrition, training in processing local foods based on moringa leaves, social entrepreneurship training, and mentoring of adolescent groups. The activity was conducted at Potorono Village Hall on January 17, 2026, involving 27 youth members of the Karang Taruna organization from four hamlets. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments of participants’ knowledge, as well as observation of participants’ skills.
The results showed an increase in the average knowledge score of participants from 75.36% to 84.95%. The adolescents were also able to produce innovative products, namely Sorgreen Cookies and BakyuLor Dawet made from moringa leaves, as healthy foods for anemia prevention. This program demonstrates that the integration of health education, local food utilization, and socio-preneurship is effective in improving adolescents’ capacity for community-based anemia prevention.
