Abstract

Background: Reproductive health education prior to marriage is a strategic effort to prevent high-risk pregnancies and improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. Many prospective couples focus primarily on administrative and ceremonial aspects of marriage while neglecting reproductive health preparedness.

Objective: This community service activity aimed to increase knowledge and awareness of reproductive health and healthy pregnancy preparation among prospective brides and grooms.

Methods: The activity was conducted using an educational intervention and interactive discussions involving 18 prospective couples at the Sewon Religious Affairs Office. Educational materials included reproductive health, preconception care, healthy lifestyle, and pregnancy danger signs. Evaluation was conducted through participant engagement, discussion participation, and quiz-based assessments.

Results: Participants demonstrated increased understanding of reproductive health and pregnancy preparation, reflected by active participation, correct responses during discussions, and improved quiz results. The activity received positive feedback and high enthusiasm from participants.

Conclusion: Reproductive health education for prospective couples effectively improves knowledge and readiness for healthy pregnancy planning. Collaboration between educational institutions and Religious Affairs Offices is recommended to strengthen sustainable pre-marital health education programs
